Sixteen Months Today!

Isabelle is sixteen months old today! Isabelle loves to point. She will be sitting in her high chair eating breakfast and she will point to something that she sees outside. When she points at Damien he will touch her finger with his and say, "zzztt" like he's zaping her. She thinks it's really funny.

One of her newest skills is blowing bubbles in the bathtub. This kind of freaks me out because she willingly puts her face in the water regardless if it's the pool or the bathtub. We've been working on blowing bubbles in swim class, so now all we have to do is pretend the pool is a giant bathtub!

Speaking of swimming, Isabelle had her last swim class at the gym today. Part of the class was in the outdoor pool. She loves to splash around in the outdoor pool. It is really nice because it gradually gets deeper plus there is an area where it's only a foot deep. The other nice part is that it's warm! Isabelle is not fearful of the outdoor pool and will virtually leap out of my arms and try to swim on her own. This really scares me, so I make sure I'm right there to pick her up out of the water when she goes under.

Isabelle is conversing more and more each day. Besides the usual "Mama", "Dada", and "Baba", she can say "done", "more", and "dog dog" pretty well. Her intonation for words and names is there, it's just a matter of getting the lips and tongue coordinated to get the words out. I'm sure once she gets it all together, we will have a non-stop talker on our hands!
