After the baby shower, I only had a couple of hours to rest until Damien and I went to our childbirth preperation class. Tonight's class we covered:

In labor support we covered a great list comfort measures for labor such as music, massage, lighting, praise, etc. We then reviewed what we learned about stage one of labor from last week by discussing "what if" scenarios. We practiced the counter pressure positions and labor positions. Then the instructor showed us the four pushing positions (she didn't want anyone to practice pushing). We ended the class by watching two videos. One was about stage two and three of labor (pushing the baby out and delivery of the placenta). The other was about one woman's labor experience. It was funny to hear the different reactions from people (flashback to 8th grade health class).
