Six months old

Isabelle is six months old today. Time really flies when you are taking care of a baby. She has taken to eating solid foods nicely. This evening she had some spinach and potatoes, along with carrots and rice cereal. She is still getting up on all fours and rocking back and fourth, but hasn't coordinated her legs and arms yet to start crawling. She can, however, roll all over the place. Damien calls it "tacking" like what a sail boat does. Isabelle has also been practicing sitting up without support. She hasn't said any words yet, but I'm sure that will come in time. She does like to vocalize and expresses herself rather well. And yes, that is Isabelle's own keyboard. She likes pounding on ours so much, we gave her one of the extras that wasn't being used.

Today was our swimming lesson and Isabelle did exceptionally well. She swam underwater with barely any assistance from the instructor. It was amazing to see, she actually propelled herself through the water! The other new thing we learned was parent-parent underwater glides. This is where two parents exchange babies underwater. It was kind of scary, but Isabelle and her partner Allison did really well. According to Isabelle's instructor, she can now be weaned off the "blow" queue because Isabelle is now starting to hold her breath on her own. Now all Isabelle has to work on is floating on her back. I am so proud of her and all that she has accomplished!
