The Macielinski Family: Christmas in Corvallis

Christmas came early this year in Corvallis. Gramma Joyce and Papa Vern had the Ellis and Macielinski families down for the day to exchange gifts. Marla's parents, Klaus and Ellin, were in town and participated in the festivities. We decided to car pool so it would be a more comfortable ride for everyone. It was a nice day for a drive which made the trip even better. Once we arrived and unloaded, we had some snacks and the kids played. My mom made a wonderful lunch consisting of: roast beef, asparagus with red peppers and onion, a potato dish, rolls, and really good wine. After dinner we all went downstairs so the grandchildren could open their presents. Isabelle, Sara, and Sophie all had "Princess" stockings with their picture on it. The girls also received "angel halo's" to wear. Solomon's stocking was a gingerbread man. The kids all liked opening up presents. Isabelle learned how to tear the wrapping paper. Everyone received wonderful gifts from Gramma Joyce and Papa Vern. While the kids were playing with their new toys, the adults had a white elephant gift exchange. The hottest item was a vodka tasting kit. I ended up with Chocolate Cabernet Savignon Hot Fudge. YUM! Unfortunately, Damien ended up with the real "white elephant" which was a book about menopause. Now he knows what to do when he gets those hot flashes! It was a wonderful fun filled day and all the kids passed out in the cars on the ride home. Thank you Gramma Joyce and Papa Vern!
