Seven Months Old

Isabelle is seven months old today. She loves crawling all over the place. Isabelle can transition herself from crawling to sitting very nicely. She also likes to flip things around in her hands. Her vocal skills are also changing and she has been doing more babbling instead of just saying "Ahh, ahh". I mentioned in an earlier post Isabelle can kneel and she loves climbing up on Mommy and Daddy. Tonight she took interest in her "lift the flap" books and spent a good 10-15 minutes lifting the flaps on all the pages.

Isabelle surprised me this morning when I went into her room to wake her up from her morning nap. As I walked in her room, she was already awake and on all fours. She then grabbed a hold of the bars on her crib and transitioned herself to kneeling. Then, she reached up and put her hands on top of the rail and stood up! We've been working on standing for weeks now. She can pull herself up when she has a hold of my fingers, but today was the first time she stood up with the assistance of a stationary object. Tonight during story time, she was on all fours and then straightened her legs (like downward facing dog in yoga). This was another first. I think cruising is on the not too distant horizon.

Isabelle is also a wonderful eater. She now eats breakfast, lunch, and dinner. She is still nursing in the morning, after naps, and sometimes at bedtime. No teeth have come in yet. Her sleeping skills have been getting better (after some nights from hell). I've been really focusing on getting her on a sleep schedule. This means our outings are limited to a couple of hours in the late morning/early afternoon between her morning and afternoon naps. It's been a learning process as with everything else. All in all, things are going great and Isabelle is such a wonderful little girl. We are so happy to have her in our lives.
